| CONSTITUTION TEAM HONORED BY STATE REPRESENTATIVE |
| On Feb. 22, Representative Anitere Flores '94 presented Mrs. Rosalie Heffernan and the members of the Constitution Team with the Florida House of Representatives Tribute. After giving the team their award, Rep. Flores spoke to the students about her experiences as a legislator, answered questions and even reminisced about her experiences on the Constitution Team. The Team will represent the state of Florida in the national "We the People" Competition in April. |

| Parking for the school year 2010-2011 will be available to the class of 2011 only. The application letter with instructions will be available on Edline starting March 19, 2010.

| Prom season is approaching! When shopping for prom dresses, please remember that the dress should be modest – no plunging necklines, side exposure, bare midriffs, extremely low backs, or extremely short skirts. Avoid the embarrassment of being sent home for an inappropriate dress. |

| COURSE SELECTION |
| Course selection cards are due, signed by parents, on March 5 for present sophomores and juniors, on Friday, March 12 for present freshmen. These cards will be collected in homeroom. Students are to provide alternate
choices for their elective classes. |
| END OF THIRD QUARTER |
| The third quarter will end on Wednesday, March 24. Report cards will be distributed after Easter vacation, in April. |
| ANNUAL MAIL CAMPAIGN |
| By now you should have received our Mail Campaign appeal. Your generous response is truly appreciated. If you have not sent in your contribution yet, we hope you will take a few minutes and do so. It is very important to our school. |
| PLEDGE PAYMENTS |
| Please remember that pledges are one of the financial obligations that must be up to date in order to re-register, attend Close Up, school trips, and receive report cards and rosters. (Please see the Financial Obligation Policy, pp. 84-85, in the handbook).
Junior parents, please remember that all pledge balances have to be paid by the end of your daughter’s junior year.
For your convenience, we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. If you would like to charge your pledge to a credit card, please call the Institutional Advancement Office at ext. 241 or 243. If you would like to have your credit card charged automatically each month, we can do that, too.

| Registration for the AP exams continues through March 12, 2010. Each exam is $86.00.
Students currently enrolled in AP courses must register for the exams.

| BLUE & WHITE COCKTAIL |
| Our Annual Blue and White Cocktail will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Mrs. Silvia Simonetti and Mrs. Annie Cruz Kokenge ’78 are the chairs for this event and invite you to join in the planning. This year our theme is SPAIN – RAICES. The evening will be a wonderful way for you to meet other parents, friends and alumnae. The Cocktail will be held at the Miami Art Central Rooftop. We hope you will join us for an enchanted evening of tapas, auction, music and dance. Ticket sales open Wednesday, March 17. | TENNIS TOURNAMENT |
| Our 18th Annual Tennis Tournament was held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Royal Palm Tennis Club.
On behalf of Sister Sheila and the entire Our Lady of Lourdes Academy family, we thank chairpersons Luis & Marisa de la Aguilera, Dr. Jorge & Mercy de la Pedraja, Dr. Pedro & Essie Llaneza, and Victor & Ariana Gutierrez, as well as the committee members, who all worked so hard for the event. And, of course, a special thank you to all of our senior parents who have worked with us for the past four years. Over $7,500 was raised for the benefit of our school. |
| PHONE-A-THON |
| Our Alumnae Phone-a-thon took place the first two weeks of February. We were able to raise $30,000 in pledges. We thank all those who contributed to our efforts and ask anyone who was not contacted, and would like to contribute, to e-mail alumnae@olla.org.
