Institutional Advancement

Purpose

The Office of Institutional Advancement is the department responsible for raising funds to supplement the academic and building needs of the school not covered by tuition. All funds are tax deductible.

In addition to the payment of tuition, all families are expected to pledge an amount, per daughter, payable throughout the years of her attendance. These pledges enable the school to maintain reasonable tuition levels. All pledges are commitments to be fulfilled and will be taken into consideration each year at re-registration time.

The parents of all incoming students are required to attend a meeting with the director in order to become mutually acquainted with the school and its policies and to create an individualized pledge plan.

Ways You Can Give

Pledges

In addition to the payment of tuition, all families are expected to pledge an amount, per daughter, payable throughout the first three years of her attendance. These pledges enable the school to maintain reasonable tuition levels by being a source of funds for special projects, scholarships, and school improvements.

After a student’s admission to the school, her parents are required to attend a meeting with the Assistant Principal for Institutional Advancement. This meeting, which is approximately an hour in length, is held in Mrs. Camaraza's office. It is mandatory and part of the registration process. Its purpose is:

  • To become mutually acquainted
  • To answer questions about the school
  • To create an individualized pledge plan

The amount of the pledge is based on each family’s financial situation. The family is given a “Suggested Gift Guide,” but the family makes the ultimate decision on the pledge. An initial payment is expected at the time the pledge is made. The remaining pledge is to be paid in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments. All pledge payments are tax deductible.

Matching Gifts

Many companies (such as FPL and Merrill Lynch) are now matching donations to secondary schools, but we need you, the parents, to send in the forms. If your employer has a Matching Gift Program, please request the form from their Human Resources or Employee Benefits Department. This is a wonderful and easy way to benefit our students.

Stocks and Securities

Any securities that are donated are sold by the Archdiocese, and the proceeds are sent to our school.

In Kind Gifts and Services

Donations are gratefully accepted for services or goods that may be needed by the school or any of its events.

Mail Campaign

The Mail Campaign takes place in November. A letter of appeal explaining the school’s needs and proposed projects is mailed to:

  • Parents of current students
  • Alumnae
  • Parents of alumnae

Grants/Major Gifts Research

Grant research is done through publications, the Internet, and referrals. Department heads are notified of available grants, or, a department head may also initiate a grant search for funding a specific project.
