Three seniors at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy have been selected to represent the school in The Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards program, each in her own category. These awards recognize outstanding seniors who have maintained good grades and "unselfishly apply their special knowledge and talents to contribute significant service to their school and community."
The 2009 nominees, along with their corresponding categories, are: Carolina Wilson (English), Stephanie Parra (Journalism), and Stephanie Wassman (Science).
The winners will be announced in May of 2010.
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who do substantial service may be interested in becoming nominees their senior year. Interested students should contact Mrs. Maria Tilson in the Guidance Office, for information. To be competitive, nominees should be aware of Silver Knight requirements beginning freshman year.
