Seventy students from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, both current and graduates from the class of 2009, earned AP Scholar Awards from the College Board, in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the Advanced Placement Exams, which were taken in May 2009. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement, based on students' performance on multiple AP Exams.
Miranda Garcia, a graduate from the Class of 2009, was named an AP National Scholar, having received an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students and graduates are: Nicole Chivite, Gisele Fontela,

Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Furthermore, thirty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by earning grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The College Board's Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.
As part of its rigorous college preparatory curriculum, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy currently offers 17 Advanced Placement courses. Students who successfully complete this coursework emerge confident in their abilities to succeed in academia.
